Here at Folly Lake Café, we not only have homemade cakes, alcoholic beverages and a fantastic selection of freshly made food, we also have the perfect environment in which to enjoy them. Whether you’re a seasoned fisher or simply a person who enjoys fine views, we have it all here at Folly Lake Café.
Food and drinks are always ready on your arrival. Toilet facilities are available and there’s a warm, friendly, atmosphere for you to relax and warm up when out walking. Plenty of parking is available, why not leave your vehicle if you wish to start the ‘Risby Round Walks’ walk from here.

Perfect Meeting Place
Open every day, Folly Lake Café is situated overlooking the historic Folly Lake with a large South facing decked balcony. The log cabin is a great place to meet friends. Enjoy home-cooked cakes and pastries with a fresh Latte or maybe something stronger. The ideal setting to relax with friends. Or to take time out to relax and read a book while enjoying fresh ground coffee and a homemade scone and cream in beautiful surroundings.
Risby Park is the perfect place to enjoy idyllic surroundings and a good days coarse fishing. You can also just visit to enjoy food and drink at the licensed lakeside café whilst you plan the next day’s fishing. Great views across the lake and regular splashes from the huge head of carp, tench and ide.
Risby Park consists of 4 ponds set in a small tree lined valley bewteen Beverley and Cottingham. See ‘How to find us’ below.
How to find us
Folly Lake Cafe sits on the banks of Folly lake at Risby Park Fisheries, located approximately 1 mile southwest of Beverley and 10 minutes drive from Hull.
Taking the A164 from Beverley to Cottingham turn right for Walkington (look for the brown tourism Fish sign), it’s the first turning after the A1079 junction.
From Humber Bridge, follow the signs for Beverley and take the left turn for Walkington after the Skidby/Cottingham roundabout. Follow the Walkington road for 100yds then take your 1st left for Little Weighton. Risby Park is on your right 1/2-mile down Dunflat Road.
From Leeds/Sheffield and the M62, leave at junction signposted North Cave, head through the village taking signs for Beverley. At Walkington, the last village before Beverley, turn right at the traffic lights located at the end of the village. The first sign for Risby is at the next right turn.

Inside – the Cafe is tastefully decorated to complement its rural setting with nuances of Shabby Chic style and furniture. Outside offers ample seating on the decked balcony overlooking Folly Lake and Folly Wood. Whatever the weather your comfort is our priority.
