Risby fishing ponds were built 17 years ago on the ancient site of Risby hall and gardens. The hall was burnt to the ground in 1784 but the Folly remains on the bank of the lake which adopts its name. All the lakes are set in a tree lined undulating valley that once boasted one of the biggest deer parks in Yorkshire. The odd wild deer can still be seen by the die hard early rising fisherman.
